Eating fats to lose weight might seem counterintuitive, but if you know which fats to eat, you can increase your weight loss. To drop pounds, eat foods high in monounsaturated fat, like avocado oil, macadamia nuts and black or green olives. They'll help ward off hunger and keep you slim.

Modern diet gurus have made carbs seem so scary, but new research shows that your fat-burning system actually operates better when you keep it guessing, so don't let yourself get caught in a rut. Eating a variety of carbs is actually desirable, at least for athletes, according to the journal Essentials of Strength Training and Conditioning. Keep in mind, that's not an invitation to gorge on Fruit Loops. Instead, try focusing more on "wet" carbs, especially at night. A wet carb is one that naturally has a lot of water in it, stuff like cucumbers, tomatoes, salad greens, and asparagus. Wet carbs allow you to maintain relatively adequate levels of water during the night since you can't drink while you sleep. Staying hydrated overnight means your body will continue to get the nourishment it needs to unveil your abs even while you're dreaming of a faraway beach.

Coffee and especially tea are powerful weight-loss drinks. What's more? Different varieties of tea cause you to lose weight for different reasons. Green tea, for example, acts as a metabolism booster because it unlocks your fat cells, while white tea prevents new fat cells from getting bigger. Stay away from sweeteners and opt for a squeeze of lemon in your tea instead. Lemon can actually enhance the beverage's weight-loss powers.
Pu-erh tea has a lower antioxidant content than white or green tea, but Chinese people credit it with many health benefits, especially promotion of weight loss, reduction of serum cholesterol, and cardiovascular protections.
Oolong tea contains flavanoids, theanine, fluoride and caffeine but not as much as black tea. Oolong is associated with reducing risks of heart disease,helps fight obesity and promote weight loss,lowers the risk of cancer; prevention of diabetes; a reduction in both inflammation and oxidative; healthy skin and even healthy bones.It's high in disease fighting antioxidants and loaded with bioflavonoids, such as myricetin, kaempferol, and quercetin. It supports a healthy brain and prevents cognitive decline and increases visual information processing, attention levels, alertness and calmness within the first hour of consuming. Oolong prevents bone loss and the reasons why are not clear. One other thing it does is it reduces the appearance of eczema by drinking oolong tea 3x daily.

It's time to make a commitment to yourself to get healthy. I know you probably want to say that you only want to love somebody today. Guess what ...it's time to love yourself and your body. So, if you want to love somebody, start now by making changes for you and your health. Do you know why? Because no one is going to do it for you or care whether you do or don't.
I care and want to see healthy, happy people that don't want to be overweight or obese. Choose to live and not die. Give yourself a valentine of love by making changes that show YOU love YOURSELF enough to care to make a change.

Reach for sparkling water laced with a few frozen berries. It may be the sweet spark you’re looking for. Look at the differences in sugar content for the following drinks.

Applesauce, blueberries, strawberries, banana and pineapple can add sweetness to baked goods. If you opt for fruit, you may have to add more flour or reduce the amount of liquids in the recipe to prevent your batter from being too thin. Zest from the peel of lemons, limes or oranges can enhance flavors and can be tossed in a low-sugar batter.

Some canned fruits, packaged breads, pre-made sauces, fruit-flavored yogurts, and even cereals and flavored oatmeal often contain added sugars.

Sprinkle in some cinnamon, vanilla, cardamom or nutmeg—the nutty taste of nutmeg is also great on fruit, pancakes, French toast, or scrambled eggs!

Understand what “sugar free” means.

The term indicates a food has less than 0.5 grams of sugar per serving. “Reduced sugar” foods must have at least 25 percent less sugar per serving than their traditional counterpart.

Read labels and know sugar’s aliases. Ingredients ending in “ose” like sucrose, dextrose, fructose, glucose, lactose and maltose indicate sugar. Other names include: corn syrup, cane sugar, molasses, nectar and fruit juice concentrate. Remember that honey, maple syrup, and coconut sugar are also forms of sugar.

Remember the recommended sugar limits. For women it’s 6 teaspoons or 25 grams a day , maximum; for men it’s no more than 9 teaspoons or 36 grams per day.
